How much does sofa cleaning cost in Nairobi?
Published 2026-10-05 · Steam & Shine team
Ask three cleaning companies in Nairobi what a sofa costs to clean and you will often get three answers — or none at all until they "come and assess". Assessment matters, but a company with real rates should be able to tell you them upfront. Here is what actually drives the price.
What changes the price
- Seats, not sofas. Almost all honest pricing is per seat — a seven-seater corner set costs more than a two-seater, fairly.
- Fabric type. Standard fabric is the baseline; recliners cost a little more (moving parts, thicker padding); leather costs the most because cleaning includes conditioning.
- Condition. Heavy staining or pet-soiled sets need more treatment time. A good company flags this in the quote, not on the invoice.
- Transport. Many companies hide travel in vague "logistics". We charge it openly: a flat Ksh 500 per job.
Our published rates
- Fabric sofa — Ksh 700 per seat (a five-seater is Ksh 3,500)
- Recliner — Ksh 800 per seat
- Leather sofa, cleaned and conditioned — Ksh 1,000 per seat
- Logistics — Ksh 500 flat per job
So a five-seater fabric set comes to Ksh 4,000 all-in. We ask for a 50% deposit to confirm the booking and the balance after the final inspection.
Red flags in a cheap quote
A price far below these ranges usually means one of three things: a dry surface wipe sold as a deep clean, extras appearing on the day, or a company that has not priced in proper products and equipment. Ask any provider two questions — is the price per seat or per set, and is transport included — and the honest ones will answer immediately. You can build an exact estimate for your job on our prices page.
